Pumpkin Festival & Scarecrow Contest THIS Saturday

Just a reminder that the Pumpkin Festival is THIS Saturday, 12-4 (Rain or Shine) at Skillin.  Build your own scarecrow (grab anything you have around the house) and bring it to the festival for a chance to win prizes for your family!

Take a walk through the Skillin Pumpkin Patch...play games...join in fun races...visit our fortune teller...take a hayride....eat some treats and drink some cider.  So much fun!  Bring your friends & family...our Pumpkin Festival is open to the public!

See you Saturday!

PS.  Cake Walk donations can be dropped off after 3 pm on Friday or on Saturday morning anytime. 

Pumpkin Festival Raffle Basket Items Due Oct 10

Just a friendly reminder that items for the Pumpkin Festival Raffle Baskets are due on October 10th.  We will be raffling filled baskets at the Pumpkin Festival.   If you are able to donate an item to our baskets - please select from the following themes for each grade:

K- Baking
1st- Art Attack
2nd- Winter's Coming
3rd- Chocolate Lovers
4th- Party Time
5th- Sports

Please send your item in with your child to school or drop it in the office.

Ice Cream Social & Playground Party Success!

We are thrilled that so many Skillin families turned out for the Ice Cream Social and Playground Party tonight!  The PTA is thrilled host this event each and every year.  We would like to send a special shout out "Thank You" to Friendly's Ice Cream....we are certain that your ice cream was the reason for our big crowd!  (Our apologies to the one or two we had to turn away due to running out of ice cream....it was a busy night...but thank goodness we had plenty of popsicles! :)

We feel lucky to have so many wonderful volunteers and appreciate all of the helping hands - both in the gym and on the playground!

More fun times ahead!  

Easy and fun volunteer opportunities abound at Skillin!  Two committee planning meetings THIS THURSDAY 9/13 in the library.

Hope you have had fun in the sun with your kiddos this summer!

Our first PTA meeting of the year is this Thursday, August, 30 at 6:15 pm in the library at Skillin.  Free babysitting will be provided in the gym. 

We will focus this kickoff meeting by summarizing our upcoming fall events & fundraisers, discussing our annual goals, reviewing our calendar....as well as seeing familiar faces and hopefully adding some new parents to our group.  If you have not yet had the chance to attend a meeting, feel free to do so anytime!   PTA meets once each month (we will publish our dates this week) and newcomers are always welcome to attend.

Look forward to seeing you on Thursday!

Our last PTA meeting of the school year is tonight at 6:15 in the library.  All are welcome...if you would like to learn more about PTA, join us!  Free babysitting is provided.  We will wrap up the success of this year and look ahead to next year! 

Thanks to ALL of our PTA volunteers!  The teachers & students had a fun filled year thanks to your support!

Due to the rain, unfortunately we were unable to have Skillin School Night at The Portland Sea Dogs last night.

We will not be rescheduling BUT you may use your tickets at any other game the rest of the 2012 season. Please call ahead to check availability OR they prefer that you exchange your tickets for the night of your choice at the box office ahead of time. We do not want anyone to show up for a game and they are sold out.

The Skillin Sea Dogs Night scheduled for tonight has been cancelled due to rain! 

Please KEEP YOUR TICKETS.  We will notify you in the next 24-48 hour with rescheduling details.

If you shop at Hannaford and would like to support Skillin School at the same time...send back the form below in your child's red tote and you may purchase a pre-paid shopping card (in $50 or $100 denominations) that you can use for your weekend food shopping at Hannaford.  Skillin makes $5 for every $100 sold. 

Your card will go out in Thursday's mail...most everyone gets them on Friday....just in time for weekend errands!
